Water Conservation

Without changing our lifestyles, We can reduce water use by 20 % and:
Conserve a resource essential to all life
Save money,
energy
and the environment.

How to conserve water in your home
  • Convert to a new 6/3 litre dual flush toilet - this can save the
  • average family up to 100 litres of water daily!
  • Use washing machines and dishwashers only when full.
  • Install high performance, water efficient shower heads.
  • Take short showers - if you want a long soak, take a bath.
  • Fix dripping taps and leaking toilet cisterns - a tap that drips once every second wastes 30 litres of water per day.
  • Turn the tap off when brushing your teeth … use a glass of water for rinsing.
  • Rinse your razor in a plugged basin …. Not under a running tap.
  • Rinse vegetables and dishes in a sink of water … not under a running tap.
  • Buy appliances with a high water conservation rating.
